At Least Six More Major Wrecks Haunt UP in April
March was not a good month for Union Pacific. Throughout the course of that month, UP put more than 100 rail cars on the ground in five separate major train wrecks. (See the RWU Special Bulletin 4/1/26 HERE). Now in April, things have not gotten any better. For this month, UP put no fewer than 93 rail cars on the ground along with 3 locomotives, in a total of 6 major wrecks in just 26 days. Funding cuts for passenger rail, transit are the wrong way to go
Federal funding for passenger rail is under threat. This is true every year, and passenger rail advocates have repeatedly fought successfully to retain funding. CANADA: Worker organized Day of Mourning event rallies second year in a row in BC
SOURCE: The North Star Workers gathered for the second annual independent Day of Mourning rally in Downtown Vancouver, rallying behind chants like “Kill a worker, go to jail” and “When bosses lose, they’re in the red, when workers lose, we end up dead!”.
